Colorectal cancer is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Osteoporosis is frequently seen in systemic mastocytosis. Although diphosphonate therapy has been shown to be transiently effective, therapy options for this form of osteopenia are very limited. We have treated three patients with systemic mastocytosis and osteopenia successfully with interferon alpha-2b. Eleven patients with early syphilis were selected at the University Dermatology Clinik in Frankfurt/M, and bone scintigraphy was performed to check for bone lesions as sign of a systemic character of the disease.
