Eleven cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the prostate have been previously reported in the Japanese medical literature. Patients with this type of carcinoma have dismal prognoses. Urethral leiomyomas are rare, benign tumours arising from smooth muscle tissue, typically affecting women of reproductive age and thought to be oestrogen-dependent. We present a case of a young nulliparous woman who reported severe dysuria and lower urinary tract symptoms. On examination, a polypoidal mass was observed at the urethral meatus.
