Liposclerosing myxofibrous tumor (LSMFT) is a rare fibro-osseous lesion with a strong predilection for the proximal femur, rarely seen in clinical practice and often diagnostically challenging. BACKGROUND: Ataxia is diagnosed by typical features on examination suggestive of a cerebellar etiology and can invoke extensive diagnostic testing. Osteoid osteomas (OOs) are benign bone tumors of the lower limbs that occasionally present with focal neurological signs.
CASE REPORT: A 3-year-old male presented with apparent progressive gait ataxia and non-specific leg pain. Initial imaging was unremarkable. However, 12 months later, a lesion was identified in the distal right femur, which was found to be an OO. The gait disorder and pain resolved after surgery.

Familial gigantiform cementoma is a rare benign fibrocemento-osseous lesion of the jaws that can cause severe facial deformity. It has an autosomal dominant mode of inheritance, but varies in its phenotype. It is more common in white, African, and East-Asian patients. Here we report what is to our knowledge the first distinctive Chinese family with familial gigantiform cementoma involving 4 generations and 13 patients, and which suggests that the tumour presents with 3 distinctive growth phrases.

The study reports a case of primary hyperparathyroidism in a middle-aged patient who was first admitted for persistent ankle pain and local swelling. The subsequent clinical procedures suggested cystic changes in several leg bones, which were later shown to be caused by the parathyroid adenoma. Clinical presentation of the primary hyperparathyroidism can be highly misleading, sometimes causing various clinical procedures before it is certainly diagnosed.

Haemangiomas of bone are uncommon lesions, accounting for approximately 1% of all primary bone tumours. The most frequent sites of involvement are the calvaria and the vertebral column. When haemangiomas involve long tubular bones, they are usually found in the diaphysis or metadiaphysis. Juxta-articular or epiphyseal location for a long bone haemangioma is rare. We present the imaging findings in a case of a histopathologically proven juxta-articular intraosseous haemangioma of the proximal femur. We believe ours is the first report of a haemangioma involving the proximal end of the femur.

Total femur endoprothesis is an alternative replacement for massive malignant bone tumor with intramedullary extension or skip lesion. Leiomyosarcoma usually arises in the uterus, gastrointestinal tract, retroperitoneum, or soft tissue. Primary leiomyosarcoma of bone is rare. We encountered two patients with primary leiomyosarcoma of the femur; one was a 24-year-old woman and the other, a 41-year-old woman.
