We reviewed 15 patients who underwent 16 ureterosigmoidostomies from 1975 to 1989. The underlying disease was bladder exstrophy in 13 patients. Urinary diversions have been performed according to Mathisen in 15 patients, one reoperation has been performed according to Coffey. Standard post-operative controls consist of physical examinations, capillary blood gas samples, intravenous pyelograms, inulin clearance measurements, 123I-hippuran scintigraphies and colonoscopies. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as indomethacin induce a rapid reduction in renal perfusion and blunt the effects of diuretics in patients with cirrhosis and ascites. Nonacetylated salicylates reportedly cause less reduction in renal prostaglandins than do aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. METHODS: Furosemide was ground at liquid nitrogen temperature for 30, 60, 120 and 180 min. Mixtures of furosemide-PVP and furosemide-inulin (1:1) were milled under cryogenic conditions. Materials were analyzed by XRD, UPLC, MS and NMR.

We examined the effects of cisplatin (5 mg/kg BW) on renal function in rats. Three days after administration of cisplatin whole kidney clearance of inulin fell and 24-h urine volume increased.
