Two hundred and two patients with acute erysipelas and 28 patients in remission of the disease were examined. 102 patients of the main group were treated with sodium nucleinate and levamisole in addition to the routine therapy and 100 patients of the control group were subjected to the routine therapy alone. The favourable effect of the immunomodulators on the clinical picture of the disease and the immune status of the patients was shown.

Two hundred-eighty patients were randomized to receive either BCNU, hydroxyurea and imidazole carboxamide (BHD), BHD plus levamisole, or high-dose DTIC plus actinomycin D. A case of Whipple's disease in a female is described. Malabsorption of iron, vitamin B12, folic acid and fat was present. These abnormalities reverted to normal after introduction of co-trimoxazole therapy. The patient's humoral immune system was normal, in contrast to impairment of cell-mediated immunity, which has not improved in spite of co-trimoxazole treatment for 2 years, and a therapeutic trial of levamisole. These findings are further evidence that there may be a primary immune deficiency in patients with Whipple's disease.

INTRODUCTION: This study aims to describe the outcome of levamisole (LEVA) treatment in children with frequently relapsing nephrotic syndrome (FRNS).
METHODS: This prospective cohort study was conducted at the Department of Pediatric Nephrology, Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2020.
