BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW: Previous studies have suggested that occlusal discrepancy is a risk factor contributing to periodontal disease. Occlusal discrepancy could increase the risk of developing infrabony defects. The authors present a case of a patient with severe periodontitis who exhibited many infrabony defects in the molar region due to malocclusion-induced trauma. They report the 7-year treatment outcomes of the patient after periodontal regenerative and comprehensive orthodontic therapies for functional recovery with implant prosthodontics.
CASE DESCRIPTION: A 56-year-old woman sought

We report a patient with severe chronic periodontitis requiring regenerative periodontal surgery and different types of prosthesis in the maxillary and mandibular regions. The patient was a 57-year-old woman who presented with the chief complaint of occlusal pain. An initial clinical examination revealed that 73% of sites had a probing depth of ≥4 mm, and 60% of sites exhibiting bleeding on probing. Radiographic examination revealed vertical bone defects in the molar region and widening of the periodontal ligament space around teeth #17 and 24. Initial periodontal therapy was implemented based

Although maxillofacial trauma is relatively common, it still presents a challenging management. Its management includes treatment of facial bone fractures, dentoalveolar trauma and soft tissue injuries as well as associated injuries. Plastic surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons and prosthodontists have an interest in the subject of maxillofacial injuries, particularly in the area of functional as well as aesthetical stomatognathic rehabilitation. Present case was a clinical scenario with maxillofacial trauma due to entanglement in agricultural equipment leading to fracture of palatal bone and frac

BACKGROUND: Osteochondromas (OCs) are rare in the craneofacial area (0.6%). We present 2 cases of OC of the mandibular condyle, emphasizing the surgical decision of each case. CASE 1: In a 48-year-old woman with facial asymmetry, left cross-bite, and mandible deviation to the left, a computerized tomographic (CT) scan confirmed the presence of a bony expansion of the right condyle. The clinical diagnosis was osteochondroma. The patient underwent condylectomy with costochondral reconstruction. CASE 2: In a 76-year-old woman with a 1-month history of right preauricular pain, CT showed a deformed
