PURPOSE: A series of 210 patients with Cushing's syndrome was evaluated at a single center to assess the relative values of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and lipotropin (LPH) plasma levels in the etiologic diagnosis of Cushing's syndrome and in the follow-up of treated Cushing's diseases.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: These patients included 149 patients with Cushing's diseases, 20 with adrenal tumors, and 41 with ectopic ACTH/LPH syndromes. Hormone levels were measured before therapy and during the follow-up of treated Cushing's diseases.

BACKGROUND: Surgical resection is the only potentially curative treatment for adrenal cortical carcinoma, yet the value of extended resection, palliative resection, and tumor DNA analysis remains unclear.
METHODS: The records of 23 patients with adrenal cortical carcinoma who underwent primary surgical resection at our institution were retrospectively reviewed. Flow cytometric DNA analysis was performed on primary tumor tissue from 14 patients.

OBJECTIVE: To present a case of giant adrenal carcinoma associated with renal vein and inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombus. Up to now, there is no similar case reported in the national literature.
METHODS: 75 year old woman with signs of virilization. CT-scan showed an 18 cm adrenal mass with venous thrombus and possible pulmonary metastases. The working diagnosis was primary suprarenal carcinoma.
RESULT: Due to elderly age and advanced stage, including metastasis, we decided to not perform surgery, and initiate chemotherapy.

OBJECTIVE: Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignancy associated with a dismal prognosis. Dendritic cells (DCs) are professional antigen-presenting cells leading to an antitumour immune response. The aim of this study was to elaborate two methods of antigen delivery to DCs and to evaluate an immunotherapy protocol in ACC patients.
DESIGN/PATIENTS: Autologous DCs were pulsed with autologous tumour lysate (TL). Fusion of DCs with tumour cells was based on a polyethylene glycol method. Two patients with metastasized hypersecretory ACC were vaccinated twice.
