Gastrointestinal duplications are a common type of congenital anomaly usually restricted to one part of the gut. Triplication of colon is a rare variation of duplication of the hindgut. Hindgut duplications are commonly associated with anomalies of other derivatives of the cloaca, namely, the lower genitourinary system. Here, we describe a child with triplication of colon with associated duplication of bladder and urethra and diphallus. The child described here is the only reported survivor with triplication.

As part of a study of status epilepticus in children (Maytal J, Shinnar S, Moshe SL, Alvarez LA. Pediatrics. 1989; 83:323-331); 44 children with febrile convulsions lasting more than 30 minutes were followed for a mean of 28 months (range 4 to 72). Thirty children were followed prospectively. OBJECTIVE: We describe the impact of the 1993 waterborne cryptosporidiosis outbreak on metropolitan Milwaukee child care homes and centers.
METHODS: Information on outbreak-related illness and changes in policies and practices was collected from directors of 117 facilities. Stool specimens from 129 diapered children from 11 centers were screened for Cryptosporidium.
