Lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (LELC), best known to occur in the nasopharynx, can arise in a variety of sites, such as the salivary gland, thymus, lung, stomach, skin and uroepithelium. We present a new case of leiomyosarcoma, a very rare clinical entity, arising from the renal pelvis. The primary diagnosis, based on asymptomatic gross hematuria and imaging findings, was tumor of the left kidney. After a left radical nephro-ureterectomy, histology confirmed a leiomyosarcoma of the renal pelvis. No adjuvant treatment was provided and the patient remains healthy 3 years after surgery.

Primary lymphoma of the upper urinary tract is an extremely rare entity without specific clinical or laboratory findings. Thus, this particular diagnosis is rarely anticipated and might well be reached only after nephroureterectomy. We describe a patient with primary follicular and diffuse follicle center lymphoma arising in the renal pelvis that was treated with surgery and postoperative immunochemotherapy. Furthermore, we review the literature regarding the treatment and outcome of this rare disease.

Clinical presentation of vascular disorders of female pelvis including placental adhesion, retained product of conception, ovarian venous thrombosis, varices, torsion and haemorrhagic infarct of ovary is often non-specific. Because of its availability, safety, and cost-effectiveness, ultrasound is the first investigation of choice. Computed tomography and MRI clearly depict the pelvic and retroperitoneal anatomy. This pictorial essay illustrates the complementary role of US, CT, and MRI in diagnosing vascular disorders of female pelvis.

Trauma of the pelvis and the hip are frequent and the most common lesions are fractures and dislocations. There are other traumatic lesions around the pelvis, including epiphysiolysis of the femoral head and apophysiolysis of the common muscle insertions around the hip. Cartilaginous lesions and some less frequent fractures are also illustrated in this article. We are not claiming to give a complete overview of traumatic injuries to the pelvis and the hip, but want to illustrate some more and some less frequent lesions.

Benign fibroepithelial polyps of the renal pelvis are rare. Although many ureteral fibroepithelial polyps have been reported, there are, to our knowledge, only 20+ reported cases in the renal pelvis. We report herein the clinical and pathologic features of fibroepithelial polyp of the renal pelvis and provide a detailed review of the literature.

We report the first documented case of undifferentiated carcinoma of the renal pelvis with a prominent lymphoid stroma (lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma [LELC]). OBJECTIVE: To present a case of rupture of the renal pelvis in a patient with idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis and no previous dilatation of the left excretory system.
METHODS/RESULTS: A patient with retroperitoneal fibrosis underwent surgery for ureterolysis and intraperitonealization of the right ureter. The control IVP was unremarkable. One week later, however, rupture of the left renal pelvis was observed, which was resolved by placement of a ureteral catheter.
