A retrospective survey was carried out over the years 2010-2014 among all Parasitology laboratories of University hospitals in France (ANOFEL network). The objective was to estimate the incidence of anisakidosis in France as new culinary habits such as the consumption of raw fish (sushi) or undercooked fish are increasing. This report includes all cases (n = 5) of extrinsic allergic alveolitis known to have occurred in childhood on Malta. We report here a prevalence study of this autoantibody in 162 patients with musculoskeletal or rheumatic diseases including hypocomplementemic urticarial vasculitis syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and rheumatoid arthritis uncomplicated by vasculitis. Cross immunofluorescence revealed that coxsackievirus A 16 (CA 16) shared a common antigen with enterovirus 71 (E 71). During a retrospective survey of patients with pulmonary shadows and blood eosinophilia between the years 1965 and 1980, 42 patients were found with allergic bronchopulmonary fungal disease. Eleven of these had no clinical evidence of asthma. Three of these 11 had hypersensitivity to fungi other than Aspergillus sp. In the absence of asthma there was some difficulty in making a diagnosis, particularly where collapse of the upper lobe occurred in middle-aged or elderly patients and bronchogenic carcinoma was presumed responsible.
