Radiowave hemostasis was used for endoscopic stopping of bleeding from gastric and duodenal ulcers in 96 patients. Primary single radiowave hemostasis permitted to achieve stable effect in 80 (83.3%) patients. After repeated radiowave hemostasis bleeding was completely stopped in 14 (14.6%) patients, 2 (2.1%) patients of this group underwent urgent surgery. On day 10 after radiowave hemostasis 95% of mucosal defects epithialized.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the value of conformal radio therapy in the treatment of primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in advanced stages.
METHODS: Altogether 198 patients with advanced HCC underwent three-dimensional conformal radio therapy (3D-CRT) in a dose range 48 to 63 Gy in 6 to 9 fractions completed in a course of 12 to 18 d. The total clinical tumor volume (CTV) received more than 90% of the prescribed irradiation dose delivered through 6MV X ray. This paper provides theoretical estimates of the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio advantage that can be gained from a radio microphone (FM) system used with an environmental (EV) microphone, compared with the S/N ratio delivered by a conventional hearing aid alone.
