OBJECTIVES: Urethral stenosis has a recurrent character. The urethroplasty is often proposed for repeat stenosis. This study seeks to explore the interest of clean intermittent self-catheterization in the evolution of urethral stenosis after urethrotomy.
METHODS: Single-center retrospective study from 2008 to 2013, concerning patients who received urethrotomy to treat urethral stenosis which was confirmed by endoscopy and a flow chart. INTRODUCTION: Reconstruction of the long urethral strictures is a difficult task in urology. The most frequently usedmethod is augmentation with the free buccal mucosal graft.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Restrospective analysis of 57 patients with the long urethral stricture was performed. All patients were evaluated endosco- pically and radiologically before the surgery. Buccal mucosal graft harvested from the inner side of the cheek (unilateral or bilateral) was used for the urethral reconstruction in all patients. Follow-up was one year.

The peripheral cutting balloon has been used to treat various nonvascular strictures as well as vascular stenosis. In this article, we describe for the first time the use of the cutting balloon in the treatment of patients with urethral stricture. Four patients with bulbar urethral stricture were included in the study. All strictures were successfully dilated with the cutting balloon, and patients were free of symptoms at 6-month follow-up. Cutting-balloon dilatation is a safe, easy-to-perform, and effective treatment for patients with tight urethral strictures.

PURPOSE: We attempted to identify the particular features of strictures complicating pelvic fracture urethral injuries in children.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 68 boys 3 to 15 years old who had sustained pelvic fracture urethral disruption underwent 78 urethroplasties performed by bulboprostatic anastomosis through the perineum in 42, transpubically in 23 and by 2-stage urethroscrotal inlay in 13.
