Lymphangioma circumscriptum is a rare benign disorder of unknown etiology affecting lymph vessels in the deep dermal and subcutaneous layers. The commonest sites of presentation are the axilla, shoulders, groins, tongue and oral cavity. Cellular angiofibroma is a benign growth initially described in 1997, with few reports to date. A 31-year-old woman presented with a 3-year history of a small left labial mass, which had recently increased in size to 5 cm, and was clinically thought to be a lipoma. A simple excision was performed. Histologically, the mass was consistent with a cellular angiofibroma. Ten months later, the growth has not recurred. Cellular angiofibroma is a rare, benign mesenchymal lesion typically occurring on the vulva, and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a painless, soft, vulvar mass.

Leiomyoma is common in the myometrial layer of the uterus, and rarely found in other genital organs. Previous reports show multiple sites of leiomyoma outside the uterus eg. vagina, oral mucosa or mandible vascular leiomyoma. Leiomyoma is normally a benign smooth muscle tumor and behaves as a hormone sensitive tumor Leiomyomas develop during the reproductive age and regress after menopause. A solitary mastocytoma was encountered involving the left labium majus of a 6-year-old girl. Tumor cells contained numerous cytoplasmic metachromatic granules that were immunoreactive for tryptase and CD117. As mast cells are difficult to recognize on routine stains, identification of mast cell lesions requires a high degree of suspicion. This is probably the first reported case of mastocytoma occurring in the vulva.

DATA SOURCES: Sources searched included the literature contained in the National Library of Medicine's PubMed database, using the term "lymphangioma circumscriptum" combined with "vulva." Other search terms used were "capillary lymphangioma," "lymphangiectasia," and "dermal lymphangioma." Sources also included articles predating the PubMed database that were cited by other writers.

An unusual myxoid and vascular appearing neoplasm of the vulva, termed an Aggressive Angiomyxoma, is described in two cases report. The clinical presentation and recurrence pattern were typical for previously described neoplasms of the same cellular pattern. The histopathology, difficulties in determining the surgical margins, and the treatment of this tumor are discussed.
