Temporally-regulated genetic access to IL-1β-expressing cellular networks in homeostasis and following peripheral or central immune stimuli.

BACKGROUND: The proinflammatory cytokine Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) regulates nearly all aspects of immune function. In the brain, IL-1β is … and genetically accessed using a mouse line with a knockin CreER. With this tool, we identified the choroid plexus as the predominant IL-1β-expressing region in homeostasis. Further, this mouse can be used to identify newly activated IL-1β-expressing cells; they can be targeted for manipulation in physiological and pathological contexts.

No specific binding uptake was found in the choroid plexus, venous sinus, and white matter. The expression and function of netrin-4 in murine ocular tissues.

Netrin-4, a member of the netrin family, is a potent regulator of embryonic development. It promotes neurite extension and regulates pulmonary airway branching, vasculogenesis patterning, and endothelial proliferation in pathological angiogenesis. The initial characterization of netrin-4 expression was focused on epithelial-derived organs (kidney, lung and salivary gland) and the central nervous system. Ocular development is an ideal system to study netrin-4 expression and function, as it involves both ectodermal (cornea, lens and retina) and mesodermal (sclera and choroid) derivatives and has
