Cartilage Endplate-Derived Stem Cells for Regeneration of Intervertebral Disc Degeneration: An Analytic Study.

PURPOSE: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is considered the predominant cause of low back pain (LBP) and accounts for global disability and a substantial socioeconomic burden. Given the unsatisfactory outcomes of current treatment strategies, cartilage endplate-derived stem cells (CESCs) are increasingly used in intervertebral disc regeneration. However, comprehensive analyses on CESCs remain rare. Herein, we examined the biological functions and applications of CESCs in IDD. METHODS: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched to identify studies focused on CESCs. Rele

Sex differences in outcomes after mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke in the 'real world': protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis study.

INTRODUCTION: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) had been regarded as the first-line therapy for acute ischaemic stroke patients. The sex differences in post-MT treatment outcomes were analysed by randomised controlled trial (RCT) studies with inconsistent conclusions. We suggest the results from the real-world data may differ from RCT containing studies. Therefore, the sex difference in non-clinical trial populations needs to be clarified. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: In order to obtain relative studies comprehensively, we will search the main document databases, consisting of Web of Science, Medline in

A comprehensive visual report of urodynamic study in rats with spinal cord injury.

OBJECTIVES: Spinal cord injury (SCI) is one of the most debilitating and expensive traumatic conditions. Chronic complications after SCI have a particularly negative impact on patients' functional independence and quality of life. Urodynamic study (UDS) provides a quantitative assessment of lower urinary tract function in these patients. In many fields, animal models are considered a precursor to clinical trials, so research using laboratory animals play a major role in knowledge acquisition. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twelve female Wistar rats (13 weeks old, 220-270 g) were divided randomly into

Negative pressure wound therapy versus gauze dressings in managing open fracture wound of lower limbs: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

BACKGROUND: The superiority of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) to standard gauze dressings for managing open fractures of the lower limbs remains controversial. This study aimed to comprehensively compare their clinical efficacy through a meta-analysis using randomized controlled trials (RCTs) alone. We hypothesized that NPWT would be more superior against infections. METHODS: A literature search was implemented in various databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, Medline, Clinicaltrial.gov, and Cochrane Library, etc, to screen eligible RCTs. All included RCTs were evaluated for ris
