Our report deals with the relationship of pattern and timing of sun exposure to basal cell carcinoma (BCC) in a population-based case-control study conducted in Western Australia in 1988. The main measure of intermittent exposure was based on the amount of exposure on non-working days relative to that over the whole week. Outdoor recreational activities, holidays and sunburn were also considered to be markers of intermittent exposure. BACKGROUND: Nonmelanoma skin cancers (NMSCs) are the most frequent cancers in solid organ transplant recipients, with a high rate of subsequent tumors.
OBJECTIVES: To describe subsequent NMSCs in a large cohort of liver transplant recipients (LTRs) with long follow-up and analyze the factors influencing it, including immunosuppressive regimen.
METHODS: A total of 96 LTRs (76 male) with a personal post-transplant history of squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma or Bowen's disease were included, with a median follow-up of 12.4 years (range, 1.5-27.8) after liver transplantation.

Proper healing after surgery of the external auditory canal and open-cavity mastoid depend on epithelialization of exposed surfaces. This may be retarded by the formation of abundant granulation tissue or cicatrix, which can be dealt with by the use of thin, split-thickness skin grafts. This technique, which has received little attention in the literature, is described in detail and nine cases treated for various disorders are illustrated. Patient ages ranged from 5 to 80 years and the mean follow-up was 17.2 years. Results, complications, and caveats for successful grafting are presented.

AIM: The aim of this study was to investigate the need for routine genetic counselling for identification of features of nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome (NBCCS) in patients presenting with a solitairy keratocystic odontogenic tumour (KCOT) of the jaws.
