UNLABELLED: The optimal treatment of aneurysmal bone cysts remains an area of debate. Curettage, with or without adjuvant therapy, has been advocated for tumors in most locations. A randomised prospective study was carried out to determine whether diode laser trabeculoplasty (DLT) is as effective as argon laser trabeculoplasty (ALT) in the control of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG). Forty eyes of 40 patients with uncontrolled intraocular pressure (IOP) despite maximum topical medication were entered into the study. Argon laser trabeculoplasty (ALT; 1.0 W, 0.1 sec, 50 microns) was performed in right eyes, and low energy, Q-switched Nd:YAG laser trabeculoplasty (Nd:YAGLT; 1.1-4.8 mJ/pulse) in left eyes of 14 patients with primary open-angle glaucoma and in one patient with juvenile glaucoma. Nineteen patients undergoing argon laser trabeculoplasty for open-angle glaucoma were studied prospectively. All patients had glaucomatous visual field defects with inadequate medical control of intraocular pressure (IOP) before laser treatment.
