A case of a 44 years old man with the unique combination of polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) and the congenital absence of a kidney is presented. The clinical picture consisted of fever, general symptoms, hypertermia, peripheric neuropathy, subcutaneous nodules and renal damage. Thirty-five patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IM) were treated with plasmapheresis. They had had inadequate clinical responses to prednisone or to prednisone and cytotoxic immunosuppressive drug therapy. We report a case of tuberculous granulomatous panniculitis without vasculitis in an 87-year-old female patient with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is an aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that is incurable with current chemotherapeutic approaches. Despite response rates of 50% to 70% to many regimens, all patients have disease progression after chemotherapy, and median survival is approximately 3 years. Thirteen unselected children with the minimal change nephrotic syndrome were followed for 11 months-7.5 years, during which time 32 renal function tests were performed. The conditions of three patients who had generalized granuloma annulare responded favorably to treatment with alkylating agents. This mode of therapy in two cases was chosen on the basis of recent evidence that implicates delayed hypersensitivity mechanisms as forming part of the pathogenesis of granuloma annulare.
