A 9-year-old female spayed Pug presented for marked obstructive apnoea and intermittent sneezing. On presentation, the dog had mild tachypnoea and increased inspiratory effort when sleeping. BACKGROUND: The role of the cervix in female sexual functioning is controversial. The loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) induces structural changes in the cervix. This study aimed to investigate whether LEEP affected sexual dysfunction in Korean women.
METHODS: A prospective cohort study enrolled 61 sexually active women with abnormal Papanicolaou smear or cervical punch biopsy results and required LEEP. PURPOSE: To assess the success rates of two step loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) compared with conventional cold conization procedures for decreasing positive surgical margins.

Electrosurgical techniques including laser surgery have expanded greatly in recent years. Pyrolysis of tissue produces smoke. Recently the smoke is being analyzed using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. The nature of smoke depends on the rise of temperature of tissue during electro-surgery. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the present study was to examine obstetric outcome of patients following conization and specifically the risk for preterm delivery (PTD).
METHODS: A population-based study was performed comparing pregnancies in women following conization with those who had not undergone the procedure. Stratified analysis, using a multiple logistic regression model was performed to control for confounders.

We sought to determine the outcome of the laparoscopic management of ovarian ectopic pregnancy (OEP) in a United Kingdom district general hospital and reviewed the literature. We conducted a 5-year prospective cohort study of the management of OEP cases between January 2003 and January 2008. Twelve patients had OEP confirmed with histology among a cohort of 421 ectopic pregnancies. The mean gestational age was 45 days. All 12 patients had abdominal pain and 4 (33%) had vaginal bleeding. Eighty-six women with cervical dysplasia and unsatisfactory colposcopy were managed with excisional conization--43 with outpatient loop diathermy conization under local anesthesia and 43 matched controls with cold-knife conization as inpatients under general anesthesia. Plantar and common warts can be cured with great efficacy by the intralesional injection of bleomycin using the jet injector. Traditional keratolytic treatment and electro-desiccation are also still in use. Condyloma acuminata respond to podophyllin combined with cryotherapy. It is advisable to use the CO2 laser in more extensive infections. Interferon injections also may be helpful in these cases. Plane warts can be treated by tretinoin and 5-fluorouracil. In case of diffuse verruca sensitization with diphenylcyclopropenone can be considered.
