Thyroid-stimulating hormone-secreting pituitary adenoma (TSHoma) is a rare benign endocrinological tumor which produces TSH in the pituitary gland. Herein, we presented a female patient having TSHoma with Graves' disease during and just after pregnancy that we found by indium-111 octreotide scintigraphy while investigating the patient for hyperthyroidism symptoms.

Esterification reactions from cyclic 1,3-diketones and alcohols are carried out in the presence of several Lewis acids. This work describes a label-free microarray analysis technique capable of detecting biomolecule target interactions with probes being anchored with a new linker-diluent system on indium-tin-oxide. We have developed a size series of unusually small, water-soluble (InAs)ZnSe (core)shell quantum dots (QDs) that emit in the near-infrared and exhibit new behavior in vivo, including multiple sequential lymph node mapping and extravasation from the vasculature. The biological utility of these fluorescent probes resulted from our intentional choice to match the semiconductor material and water-soluble ligand with a desired final hydrodynamic diameter and emission wavelength.

In this article, an antibiotic, lincomycin was determined in the urine sample by microchip capillary electrophoresis (CE) with integrated indium tin oxide (ITO) working electrode based on electrochemiluminescence (ECL) detection. This microchip CE-ECL system can be used for the rapid analysis of lincomycin within 40s. Under the optimized conditions, the linear range was obtained from 5 to 100 microM with correlation coefficient of 0.998. Treatment of differentiated thyroid cancer is a success of modern medicine with the use of radioiodine ((131)I). However, a significant proportion of thyroid cancers may be non-iodine avid. A young patient with sickle cell disease (SCD) and multiple hospitalizations for crisis was admitted because of suspected osteomyelitis. Initial laboratory work, radiographs, and bone images were not contributory. An In-111 white blood cell (WBC) study demonstrated two areas of increased radionuclide uptake consistent with osteomyelitis. One of these had associated soft tissue infection. Unexplained false-positive accumulation of In-111 leukocyte in the gastrointestinal tract has been reported previously. In a pediatric population, uptake in the submandibular gland was noted in 19 of 42 children. This is believed to be a normal finding in children that is not seen in adults. In some of these 19 children, unexplained gastrointestinal activity was also noted. The use of 111Indium oxine as a platelet label for the performance of platelet life-span studies has been examined. Platelet life-span in normal subjects varied between 8 X 10 and 10 X 36 d. The transfer-hydrogenation as well as the regioselective and regiodivergent addition of H-D from regiospecific deuterated dihydroaromatic compounds to a variety of 1,1-di- and trisubstituted alkenes was realised with InBr3 in dichloro(m)ethane. In comparison with the previously reported BF3 ⋅Et2 O-catalysed process, electron-deficient aryl-substituents can be applied reliably and thereby several restrictions could be lifted, and new types of substrates could be transformed successfully in hydrodeuterogenation as well as deuterohydrogenation transfer-hydrogenation reactions.

In this study, a sensitive immunosensor was developed for the first time for p21-activated kinase 2 (PAK 2) detection. In the design of the immunosensor, 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) was utilized as an ITO electrode modification material for anti-PAK 2 antibody immobilization. The authors describe an electrochemical dopamine sensor that is based on the use of electrochemically co-reduced graphene oxide (Er-GO) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) on an indium-tin oxide (ITO) electrode.
