Coagulation studies were performed on samples taken from day 6 to day 22 after the onset of symptoms from 32 patients with Argentine hemorrhagic fever, grouped by clinical form into 17 mild cases, nine moderate cases, and six severe cases. The profiles of the coagulation factors during the course of disease were similar in all patients. Sera from 341 individuals living in the distribution area of the tick Ixodes recinus were tested for tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) antibodies by HAI and gel diffusion. Kaolin treatment was unreliable for the removal of non-specific HAI inhibitors. Seven sera positive after this treatment were shown to be negative after acetone extraction/flotation centrifugation. We investigated the temporal change of Fos protein expression in the caudal vestibular nucleus of rats exposed to daily 2-h Ferris-wheel like (FWL) rotation.
