BACKGROUND: Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) and multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN) are inflammatory neuropathies that can lead to considerable limitations in daily activities and in social participation. However, systematic evaluation of these self-reported limitations is lacking in the currently available studies. Understanding the impact of these diagnoses on patients' life is important to optimize management strategies.

The association between dermatomyositis and polyradiculoneuritis is rarely citated in the speciality literature. Our patient had at first a disorder that looked like dermatomyositis, then she associated polyradiculoneuritis. At the presentation to our hospital the two diseases were combined, being very difficult to differentiate. The discrimination between these two had been made by performing a muscular biopsy and EMG studies. This emphasizes once again their importance in defining the muscular impairment from the neurogenic one.

Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is the prototypic chronic inflammatory polyneuropathy, characterized by well-defined clinical and electrodiagnostic criteria, despite the absence of biomarkers or full understanding of disease pathogenesis. It has both a typical form and 5 variants. Guillain Barre syndrome (GBS) following Varicella zoster is a rare presentation and has only been reported in a few cases around the world. Of the reported cases, the type of GBS is not specified in the majority, and where specified is of the acute inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (AIDP) type. We report a case of acute motor axonal neuropathy (AMAN) type GBS following herpes zoster in a 27-year-old male who presented with bilateral lower limb weakness and left sided lower motor neuron type facial nerve palsy a week after herpes zoster infection.

Covid-19 associated several neurological manifestation in the form of Post-infectious transverse myelitis(TM) and para-infectious TM has been reported. A 54 years old female patient presented to us with acute retention of urine and upper motor neuron type of bilateral lower limb weakness in shock stage, after 12 days of covid-19 infection. MRI (3T) brain and spine showed no abnormality and Nerve conduction study showed acquired motor axonal polyradiculoneuropathy in bilateral lower limbs. We herein present an index case of MRI-negative myeloradiculoneuropathy following covid-19 infection.

This year is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Georges Cuvier (1769-1832), one of the fathers of comparative anatomy and palaeontology: he died at age 63 from an unknown disease. OBJECTIVE: To explore the previously undescribed phenomenon of phantom limb generation in patients with severe acute inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (AIDP).
METHODS: Between April 2011 and January 2014, we encountered 3 patients with AIDP in our intensive care unit who experienced features of self-limited supernumerary phantom limbs (SPLs) during their course.
