BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to assess the rate of COVID-19 vaccination and the attitudes toward receiving COVID-19 vaccination among patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Poland. An important aim of the study was to determine why some people get vaccinated and others refuse to do so. MATERIAL AND METHODS This was a single-center, prospective survey. The study included 267 IBD patients who agreed to complete an anonymous questionnaire comprising 31 questions. RESULTS We found that 71.2% of the IBD patients had been vaccinated. The history of COVID-19 was associated with a lo

BACKGROUND: Arboviruses including dengue (DENV), chikungunya (CHIKV) and Zika cause significant morbidity in Latin America. With multiple arbovirus vaccines in development, better understanding of community attitudes and acceptability for these vaccines is needed.
METHODS: In September 2016, a cross-sectional survey assessed arbovirus knowledge, attitudes, vaccine demand and willingness-to-pay (WTP) at the conclusion of a DENV/norovirus surveillance study in rural Guatemala with high arbovirus endemicity. Factors associated with vaccine demand and WTP were assessed with regression analysis.

AIM: This study evaluates hepatitis B virus (HBV) vaccination response in children with celiac disease (CD). Response in initial non-responders after a single booster vaccination as well as factors influencing HBV vaccination response were evaluated.
METHODOLOGY: Anti-hepatitis B surface antibodies (a-HBsAB) were checked in all children with CD and a documented complete HBV vaccination. An a-HBsAB <10 U/L was considered as non-response. A single intramuscular HBV-vaccine booster was advised to all non-responders. Response was checked at the next appointment.
RESULTS: 133 children with CD wer

INTRODUCTION: Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination prevents HPV-related cancers, yet uptake remains suboptimal. In France, routine vaccination targets early adolescence (11-14 years), with catch-up vaccination recommended up to age 26 years. Reimbursement extension to age 26 became effective in December 2025, after the present survey. Within the French Military Health Service (Service de Santé des Armées, SSA), HPV vaccines are generally not administered in primary care units; prevention therefore relies on identifying eligible service members and initiating vaccination through prescription

AIM: To assess the potential for administering catch up and scheduled immunisations during hospital admission.
METHODS: Immunisation status according to the child's principal carer was checked against official records for 1000 consecutively admitted preschool age children. Junior doctors were instructed to offer appropriate vaccination before discharge, and consultants were asked to reinforce this proactive policy on ward rounds.
RESULTS: Excluding those children who were not fully immunised against pertussis through parental choice, 142 children (14.2%) had missed an age appropriate immunis

BACKGROUND: The International Agency for Research on Cancer estimated around 3197 annual deaths along with 5008 newly diagnosed cases of cervical cancer in Pakistan. Worldwide, introduced in 164 WHO member states, the HPV vaccine provides over ninety percent (90%) protection from human papillomavirus (16 & 18 types) infections. This article intended to document the vaccine (HPV) introduction in a low-middle-income country through the lens of EPI preparedness, vaccination coverage achieved, community acceptance, and implementation challenges during Phase I.
METHODOLOGY: The research applied a

Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic has presented an unprecedented global health issue. The World Health Organization estimates 773 million confirmed cases and 7 million deaths. Vaccination continues to be the most effective way to prevent COVID-19 and has demonstrated safety and efficacy in all age groups. Though a lot of studies have looked at COVID-19 vaccination acceptance and hesitancy in adults, there is scarce research addressing adolescent vaccination readiness. COVID-19 infection in this age group may result in lost school days, school and community transmission, and loss of productivi

BACKGROUND: Thanks to a successful voluntary vaccination programme, measles, mumps and rubella are rare diseases in Sweden. Coverage among children 18 mo of age has been 99%, but the measles, mumps and rubella vaccination (MMR) has increasingly been questioned among parents.
AIM: To study reasons why parents choose not to vaccinate their child against measles, mumps and rubella, and their opinions on vaccines and the diseases themselves. A secondary objective was to compare coverage at 18 mo of age based on parental report with the national statistics based on patient charts.
METHODS: The of

BACKGROUND: Seasonal influenza imposes disproportionate morbidity and mortality burdens on elderly populations globally, with suboptimal vaccination coverage persisting as a critical public health challenge. Despite policy advancements including China’s 2025 elderly influenza vaccination target, persistent gaps necessitate deeper understanding of influenza vaccine hesitancy determinants in high-risk cohorts. METHODS: This cross-sectional study assessed influenza vaccine hesitancy among 2,288 community-dwelling adults aged ≥ 60 years in Ningbo, China (February–March 2025). Validated 5C psycholo

BACKGROUND: COVID-19 vaccination remains one of the most effective interventions against the pandemic; however, hesitancy continues to impede equitable coverage, particularly among key populations. In Nigeria, MSM, FSW, and PWID face heightened vulnerability to both HIV/AIDS and COVID-19, but remain underrepresented in vaccination research. Rivers State reported one of the highest numbers of confirmed cases and deaths in the southern region. The state also has a relatively high HIV prevalence rate and houses several key population OSSs. This study explored COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among thes

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of a school-based multicomponent intervention on parental HPV knowledge, attitudes, and daughters' vaccine initiation and completion rates.
METHODS: A mixed-methods study was conducted using cluster-randomized controlled trial (cRCT) supplemented by a qualitative descriptive phase. Ten eligible elementary schools in Indonesia were randomized (1:1) to intervention (n = 193 parents) or control (n = 181 parents) groups. The intervention consisted of an 8-minute educational video followed by a 30-minute facilitated discussion, supplemented by text reminder

Very young children (under 2 years old) have high risk for influenza-related complications. Children 6 months or older in the US are recommended to receive influenza vaccination annually, yet uptake is substantially lower than other routinely-recommended vaccines. Existing nationally-representative studies on very young child influenza vaccine uptake has several limitations: few examine provider-verified influenza vaccination (relying on parental report), few contain parental vaccine attitudes variables (known to be crucial to vaccine uptake), and none to our knowledge consider intersectionali

Despite infections due to HPV nowadays represent the most common sexually transmitted diseases worldwide with recognized effective and safe preventive strategies, knowledge, attitudes; however, awareness on HPV is considerably low. The present study has two main objectives: 1. To conduct a literature review to analyze the evolution of preventive tools, the complexity of the vaccine choice process, and the challenges posed by HPV vaccine hesitancy and refusal among pre-adolescents and their parents; 2. To assess knowledge, practices and attitudes toward HPV infection and vaccination in a sample

Background: Herpes zoster (HZ) poses significant risks to immunocompromised individuals, particularly cancer patients receiving systemic therapies. The recombinant zoster vaccine (RZV, Shingrix®) provides strong and durable protection against HZ and its complications. Nevertheless, vaccination coverage remains low, mainly due to limited awareness among patients and healthcare providers and logistical barriers to vaccine access and delivery. Materials and Methods: We conducted a single-center quality improvement (QI) project to enhance RZV uptake among oncology outpatients receiving systemic th
