INTRODUCTION: Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a rare genetic disease associated with multiple fractures throughout life. It is often treated with osteoporosis medications but their effectiveness at preventing fractures is unknown. The Treatment of Osteogenesis Imperfecta with Parathyroid Hormone and Zoledronic Acid trial will determine if therapy with teriparatide (TPTD) followed by zoledronic acid (ZA) can reduce the risk of clinical fractures in OI.

INTRODUCTION: Described since 1939 in the adult population, spontaneous pneumomediastinum is less known in children. Because of its symptoms and a generally benign evolution, it is probably an underestimated diagnosis. However, it has to be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute thoracic pain.

A 64-year-old Mexican fisherman with a history of syphilis is diagnosed with panuveitis of the right eye after presenting with unilateral blurry vision, redness, and pain. Osteonecrosis of thejaw (ONJ) is strongly associated with the use of aminobisphosphonates. Herein, the authors report two cases of ONJ after intravenous bisphosphonate therapy including clinical presentations, X-ray, and pathological findings.
