Results of using vasopressin and pituitrin in 20 patients with memory disturbances of various genesis (due to circulatory disturbances in the vertebrobasilar system, cerebral atherosclerosis, neurasthenia, brain concussion, epilepsy) are reviewed. The therapeutic efficacy of the hormones was evaluated with the use of a complex of psychophysiological methods. Objective changes in the patients' neurological status and subjective state were taken into account. A high therapeutic efficacy of the hormones in the treatment of amnestic syndromes is demonstrated.

The clinical picture and course of diseases affecting the lumbosacral division of the peripheral nervous system in 111 children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 years are described. It was found that in 40.5% of the patients the diseases developed in the presence of congenital anomalies in the development of the lumbosacral part of the vertebral column. Unlike adults, the pain syndrome in children and adolescents is less pronounced, and leading in the clinical picture are signs of reflectory-tonic protection of the vertebral column.

A total of 73 patients with burn disease were examined. The whole period of the disease was marked by a distinct asthenic symptomatology shown by predominance of physical asthenia, by stable and stereotypic mental disturbances. A clinico-roentgenological examination of the transitional craniovertebral division has revealed a high incidence and a great diversity of isolated underdevelopment of the arches of the upper cervical vertebra--from their fissure-like splitting to complete absence. Usually these forms create no preconditions for disturbances of any functions, do not manifest clinically, and can be regarded as variants of normal structure of the craniovertebral division.

Results of an analysis of myoelectrogenesis changes that occurred in the course of treating 240 patients with neurological syndromes of vertebral osteochondrosis are presented. The patients were given acupuncture and electro-ionic (microiontophoresis of medicinal substances into the acupuncture sites) reflexotherapy. The efficacy of these methods in the treatment of the reflectory and compression syndromes is analyzed, and so is the informative value of total electromyography in estimating the effectiveness of the treatment being given.

The paper describes premorbid features of patients with late endogenous depressions and presents relevant genealogical data. Schizophrenic psychoses which were constantly found in these families were most thoroughly studied. These studies demonstrated intrafamial similarities of mental disorders, despite the presence of different disease entities in probands and their relatives with schizophrenia. The assumption is made on the affinity of some of the studied late endogenous psychoses to a constitutional-genetic predisposition to schizophrenia.

A clinico-genetic investigation of 61 probands with attacklike childhood schizophrenia and 188 relatives including 143 individuals of the first relationship degree (121 parents, 22 sibs) and 45 members of the families of the second and third degree of relationship was conducted.
