An analysis of the structure and frequency of Jackson's seizures during the illness in 27 patients with brain tumors displayed correlation of these parameters with a histological type of a neoformation and a degree of the involved mediobasal brain structures. In the process of development of the disease the epileptic activity in the EEG was replaced by a slow activity. The displayed peculiarities of the structure and the course of Jackson's seizures taking into account other clinical manifestations can be used in preoperational diagnosis of a histological nature of a tumor.

The authors studied 42 patients with endocrine myopathy. In thyrotoxic myopathy prevalent muscle lesions of the pelvic girdle and femur were found. EMG studies (with the aid of point electrodes), histological and histochemical studies of the muscles in patients with thyrotoxicosis indicate a primary muscular character of the atrophies. The paper deals with a range of problems connected with a study of a nature and a function of specific neuronal receptors and endogenous morphines. It is demonstrated that a further development of studies in the given area will be of a principal significance in solving the cardinal problems of psychopharmacology and a search for biological bases of mental diseases. With the aid of the rheoencephalographical and rheovazographical methods the authors revealed some objective criteria of a change of reactivity of brain vessels and peripheral vessels--the hypertonus of the vascular wall combined with a decreased pulse blood filling, a decrease of elasticity of the vascular wall. The pathogenetical validity of the inclusion of psychotropic drugs and insulin-sub-shock therapy into the scheme of antialcoholic treatment is proved.

On the basis of a clinico-anatomical comparison in 70 cases of complicated infarctions and 77 observations of white infarctions the author elaborated computing tables. It was established that the following signs have certain diagnostic significance: the degree of changed consciousness, meningeal symptoms, symptoms indicating a secondary lesion of the brain stem and symptoms characterizing the degree of focal neurological disturbances. Among the supplementary methods of special significance is CSF analysis.

In a complex study of 42 patients with syringomyelobulbia with the aid of EMG and EEG the author most frequently observed symptoms of damage of the descending root and the nuclei of the 5th nerve, the nuclei of the 9, 10 and 12 nerves, as well as nystagmus and the Horner symptom. Attempts were made to study the pathogenetical significance of the feeling of inferiority and the psychogenic syndrome, appearing in early school children (60 cases) with cerebral paralysis. Psychogenic reactions, appearing on an organically changed ground are formed in 2 directions: some children are characterized by neurotic reactions in combination with passive-defensive (astheno-phobic, astheno-depressive, etc.); other children react by agressive-defensive forms of behaviour (pathopersonality reactions--opposition, etc.).
