The authors describe the profiles of a series of acute phase plasma proteins induced by vaccination (VAC) for cholera, typhoid, yellow fever and combinations of these with DTP. Cholera and typhoid VAC as single vaccinations induce the strongest reaction, yellow fever the weakest. BACKGROUND: Canine monocytic ehrlichiosis (CME), caused by Ehrlichia canis, is an important tick-borne disease of global importance. Currently, limited information is available on the diagnostic and prognostic value of acute phase proteins (APPs) in dogs naturally infected with E. canis.

Estimation of the concentration of C9, C-reactive protein (CRP) and alpha1-antitrypsin in forty sera from patients with Behcet's syndrome and recurrent oral ulcers showed significantly increased amounts of C9 and CRP in Behcet's syndrome.
