The gas chromatography (GC) was used for quantitative and qualitative analysis of fatty acid (FA) profiles in hexane extracts of seven genetically identified basidiocarps of medicinal polypore fungus Fomes inzengae (Ces. & De Not.) Cooke collected in Ijevan, Aparan and Yerevan floristic regions of Armenia from Acer platanoides, Carpinus betulus, Fagus orientalis, Populus nigra and Salix alba host trees. OBJECTIVE: To assess knowledge and attitudes towards abortion among women and obstetricians/gynaecologists in Armenia, in order to facilitate the introduction of medical abortion.
METHODS: Ninety-nine doctors and 400 women in three cities in Armenia were purposively selected to participate in face-to-face interviews using structured survey instruments.

Prenatal and postnatal molecular-cytogenetic investigations of 75 patients have been performed. 3-stage international standard of patients' examination was used, including general clinical examination, investigation by the methods of conventional cytogenetics and molecular-cytogenetic fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) analysis. The aim of the investigation was the analyzes of somatic pathology according to sex in hospitalized pediatric patients in Armenia in 2003-2009. The study showed the prevail of respiratory diseases, congenital abnormalities, defects and chromosomal abnormalities and certain states arising in the perinatal period. The structure of diseases according to sex showed boys and girls itself is somewhat different, which may suggest diversity of the undertaken activities, especially in developing tactics and strategies for prevention and treatment of such patients.
