A rare case of chondroma of the diaphragm is reported. The patient was a 23-year-old female who had had recurrent upper abdominal pain for 4 years. Her symptoms and physical findings on admission suggested an intra-abdominal tumor. Roentgenological study disclosed a mass with a thick calcified wall in the upper abdomen. Laparoscopy revealed a multinodular white mass protruding from the left hemidiaphragm. The mass was surgically enucleated from the diaphragm. A chondroma rodens involving the superficial medial aspect of the right orbit was diagnosed in a 9-year-old dog referred because of chronic unilateral epiphora. Examination revealed several ophthalmic abnormalities attributable to a space-occupying mass in the superficial medial aspect of the orbit. UNLABELLED: A 47-year-old female presented with a solitary mass located in the plantar region of her left foot. The mass, which she noticed … embedded in a chondroid matrix with focal calcification. The definitive diagnosis was extraskeletal chondroma. Plantar pain resolved within 3 months and no recurrence was found at the 1-year follow-up.

INTRODUCTION: Chondromas are uncommon benign tumors of cartilaginous origin. Although chonodroma of the jaw is extremely rare, the commonly involved are the anterior portion of the maxilla, condyle and coronoid process. A chondroma is a painless, slow growing tumor causing destruction and exfoliation of teeth. On a radiograph, the tumor appears as a cyst-like radiolucent lesion, while some are sclerotic. The borders are usually ill-defined. Irregular calcifications may be seen with radiolucencies and then it is an osteochondroma.

Extraskeletal chondroma can occur in the hands, feet, head and neck. This tumor usually presents as a small solitary nodule. The histogenesis of the tumor is controversial, but some have suggested a metaplastic origin. Chondroma of the fallopian tube is very rare. There is only one report in English literature. Tumours originating from the laryngeal skeleton are a rarity. We present a case report of an 82 year old male with chondroma in the larynx. 23 years before, the tumour was diagnosed when the patient was asymptomatic. 10 years later he was operated up on with conservative surgery when the tumour grew to a size that caused permanent dyspnoea and dysphonia. After regular examinations, 13 years later, there is no evidence of recurrence of the mass. Chondromas are rare. Surgical extirpation is the essential line of treatment for tumours of the cricoid cartilage.

Chondromas are benign cartilaginous tumors and rarely develop in the nasal septum. Although it causes different symptoms depending on the location and size of the tumor, the most common complaints are nasal obstruction and epistaxis. A submucosal mass narrowing the nasal passage can be seen in the septum by an endoscope. Computed tomography gives information about the localization and size of the mass. Chondroma is a relatively rare, but well-reported benign neoplasm. This lesion normally occurs attached to bone; however, they may be rarely found without association to bone and embedded in soft tissue. The authors describe the case of a 76-year-old man in whom flexor tendon triggering was associated with an extraskeletal chondroma between the annular ligament and the flexor tendon.

The case of a massive pelvis chondroma in a 15-year-old male is described. The patient was previously treated operatively due to multiple chondro-osseous exostoses. INTRODUCTION: Cartilaginous tumors of the head and neck are rare. The most frequent site is larynx and spheno-ethmoidal area. Chondroma of the nasal septum is very rare. Chondromas of the nasal septum are rare. Since its first literary description in 1842, only about 140 cases have been reported. We present the case of a 38-year-old female who reported intermittent nasal bleeding and nasal obstruction for 3 months. A reddish mass arising from the nasal septum was found by endoscope. A rare case of the giant chondroma is presented. The patient, 29, carried it over the last 24 years. At his admittance to the neurosurgery department the tumor attained huge dimensions and occupied the basement of the anterior cranial fossa on the left side penetrating into the orbital plates, frontal sinus and ethmoidal labyrinth. Surgery was performed yielding a good result.
