E type cyclins (E1 and E2) are believed to drive cell entry into the S phase. It is widely assumed that the two E type cyclins are critically required for proliferation of all cell types. Here, we demonstrate that E type cyclins are largely dispensable for mouse development. Five to 40% of patients with agammaglobulineamia develop joint manifestation consisting of septic arthritis or aseptic arthritis of unclear pathogenesis. Intravenous gamma-globulin therapy seems effective on the better condition but is burden-some and expensive. We report the case of a 31-year old woman, having a common variable immunodeficiency that has a chronic oligoarthritis seronegative and not warping. Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are important indoor and outdoor air pollutants. Many studies have indicated that NOx gas causes lung tissue damage by its oxidation properties and its free radicals. BACKGROUND/AIMS: Regulation of cell cycle progression of cultured rat stellate cells was studied.

Cyclin B1 is the major component of M-phase promoting factor that plays a major role in the G2/M transition of cell cycle. We examined the expression of cyclin B1 at the protein and mRNA levels in the thymus of 12-week-old autoimmune and normal mice. Cyclin-dependent kinase 16 (CDK16, PCTK1) is a poorly characterized protein kinase, highly expressed in the testis and the brain. Here, we report that CDK16 is activated by membrane-associated cyclin Y (CCNY). Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is a common β-herpesvirus causing life-long latent infections. HCMV replication interferes with cell cycle regulation in host cells because the HCMV-encoded cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) ortholog pUL97 extensively phosphorylates the checkpoint regulator retinoblastoma protein. pUL97 also interacts with cyclins B1, T1, and H, and recent findings have strongly suggested that these interactions influence pUL97 substrate recognition.
