Ossifying fibroma, also the cement ossifying fibroma radiographically, represents a well-demarcated mixed radiolucency/radio-opacity with smooth and often sclerotic borders. These lesions are usually solitary and most commonly seen in the mandible; cases in the maxilla have also reported. A primary tumor of the tympanic membrane is very rare. Herein, we describe a patient with a thick tympanic membrane that caused progressive hearing loss. The patient was treated with total resection of the tympanic membrane and was diagnosed with fibroma after histopathologic examination. There was no evidence of recurrence 2 years after the operation, and the patient's hearing was normal. Fibroma may arise in the tympanic membrane and should be regarded as a possible cause of the mass of the tympanic membrane.

Perifollicular fibroma (PFF) is a very rare proliferative lesion of the perifollicular sheath. A flesh-colored, dome-shaped papulonodule is usually located on the face or the neck. These papulonodules may be single or multiple. Histologically, the lesion consists of a concentric arrangement of cellular fibrous tissue around a normal hair follicle. We describe here an unusual case of PFF in a 41-year-old female who had an asymptomatic small skin colored papule on the scalp, and this is an uncommon location for PFF.

Fibromas is relatively common in the patients in reproductive age and is exclusively responsible for infertility and abortions in 5% of the patients. Approximately 50% of the women with infertility and myomas become pregnant after myomectomy. The evidence suggests most of women who wish to become pregnant are able to do it in the first year, with a fall of these rates after this time. This can be attributed to the recurrence of fibromas. A 30-year-old man with a 7-month history of mild sacral pain and intermittant left sciatica was found to have an expansile lesion in the sacrum on a plain radiograph. Biopsy confirmed a chondromyxoid fibroma which was removed surgically. A 1-year follow-up showed no recurrence. The case is the fifth to be reported. Plain film and MRI appearances, histology and treatment are described. The previously reported cases are reviewed and the current literature is discussed.
