Microbial-induced carbonate precipitation (MICP) is a promising technology to immobilize/remediate heavy metals (HMs) like cadmium (Cd). However, the long-term stability of MICP-immobilized HMs is unclear, especially in farmland where chemical fertilization is necessary. Therefore, we performed MICP treatment on soils contaminated with various Cd compounds (CdCO3, CdS, and CdCl2) and added diammonium phosphate (DAP) to explore the impact of phosphate on the MICP-immobilized Cd. This study was intended to enhance the diagnostic vigilance of immobilization osteoporosis with fracture and explore its prevention and treatment. Thirteen children with the hip disease underwent one to nine months of plaster cast after operation. A retrospective analysis was made on these 13 patients with fracture and immobilization osteoporosis. The result showed that disuse fracture occurred in fifteen places of their femora. Maintenance of reduction in Colles fracture can be difficult to achieve. Some of the positions of the wrist in plaster designed to prevent redisplacement produce subsequent difficulty in the recovery of function of the wrist and hand. The author has practised a technique, in a large number of cases, using plaster with radial and dorsal indentations, which has proved capable of maintaining reduction with the wrist in a "physiological" or neutral position. The details of the technique are described and the end results in 162 patients are analysed.

Four patients having high-level quadriplegia developed elevated serum calcium concentrations (11 to 15.8 mg/100 ml) within three months of injury. All were young males (ages 15 to 19 years) and quadriplegic (C4-C7). Presenting symptoms were nausea, vomiting, polydipsia, polyuria and lethargy. In two patients severe muscle wasting and cachexia with clinical symptoms developed and persisted for several months.
