An intravestibular lipoma was discovered during destructive surgery for disabling vertigo in a case diagnosed as delayed endolymphatic hydrops. The author recommends that in cases that resemble Meniere's disease but have unusual symptoms, the existence of other lesions within the inner ear should be suspected.

Cerebellopontine angle lipomas are rare lesions that differ from other intracranial lipomas in that they typically present with slowly progressive focal signs and symptoms identical to those of other tumors of this location, and by their propensity for intimate involvement of the adjacent cranial nerves. Lipomatous tumors represent an unfrequent cause for upper aerodigestive tract neoplasms, specially concerning the palatine tonsils, that should be included in their differential diagnosis. A case of ossifying spinal lipoma is reported. The patient presented with a large swelling over the lumbar region with a dermal sinus in the centre. Imaging revealed an intradural lipoma connected with a large subcutaneous lipoma in which there was a prominent island of bone. The lipoma was excised and there were no postoperative neurological deficits. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of a spinal ossifying lipoma associated with a dermal sinus.

Benign cardiac tumors are rare, and lipomas are among those less frequently found. We report the case of a 48-year-old male complaining of high blood pressure and epistaxis in the last 2 months, with a diagnosis of right atrial lipoma established on echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, and anatomicopathological examination. The tumor was successfully removed, and up to 42 months after surgical excision, no evidence of tumor relapse was observed.

Groin dissection was performed in adult male post-mortem subjects to establish the prevalence of inguinal canal "lipoma." Thirty-six body halves (age range 24-92 years) were studied. Of these, 27 (75%) contained a discrete mass of fat within the inguinal canal. This mass was always continuous with the preperitoneal fat through the deep inguinal ring. The histologically benign hypopharyngeal lipoma is a potentially fatal tumour because of the risk of upper airway obstruction. It may be asymptomatic or present with symptoms ranging from vague foreign-body sensation to sore throat, dysphagia or dysphonia. The diagnosis may be suggested by indirect or fibreoptic laryngoscopy. Lateral neck soft tissue X-ray and barium swallow may help but CT imaging of the pharynx enables a more precise preoperative diagnosis. Lipomas rarely occur intracranially. Moreover, the cerebellopontine angle is one of the more unusual sites of such hamartomas. Of the 11 reported cases, all but three caused symptoms related to compression of the cranial nerves in the cerebellopontine angle. Only three separate cases have been studied by computed tomography, and in one the fat density was not recognized. This report deals with the clinical presentations, surgical management, and radiologic assessment of these lesions.
