PURPOSE: To describe two corneal adverse events temporally associated with anti-tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) therapy-one with severe fibrovascular pannus and another with epithelial keratopathy without pannus.
METHODS: Two patients on anti-TNF-α agents underwent comprehensive ocular examinations. Management included modification or discontinuation of biologics as clinically indicated and intensified topical therapy.

We report four patients with herpes zoster ophthalmicus who developed a dense pannus limited to a sector of the superior cornea that advanced to the central region of the cornea. Two males presented to our urology department with complaints of bleeding and malodor from buried phallus within a suprapubic fat pad. Although both men had neonatal circumcisions, advanced penile carcinoma was found in both men. As the population ages, bioprosthetic heart valves are increasingly being used to replace diseased native valves. Bioprosthetic valve durability depends on patient age and other factors, but rarely exceeds 15 years. Explanted bioprosthetic valves commonly show tissue degeneration, tears, and calcification. Serial echocardiographic findings in a patient with an Omniscience mitral prosthesis presenting progressive perivalvular pannus ingrowth are described. The first echocardiographic study was carried out one year after prosthesis implantation and showed decreased prosthetic opening velocity. Patient-prosthesis mismatch (PPM) should be recognized in patients with elevated transprosthetic gradients but without leaflet immobility, since the treatment strategy may differ in either etiology.
