Between 1965 and 1985 59 paraovarian cystic tumors, were treated at the First Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Catania University, Catania (Italy). In 45.76% of cases (27 cases) the cyst was localized on the right and in 40.67% (24 cases) on the left parametrium, bilaterally in 6.77% (4 cases) and multiple on the same side in 6.77% (4 cases). In 91.52% (54 cases) the patients were in fertile age and 8.48% (5 cases) were in menopause. PURPOSE: This study presents a 24-year single-center experience in treating pediatric paraovarian tumors. It examines their key characteristics and discusses diagnostic and management considerations.
METHODS: We performed a retrospective analysis of medical records for pediatric patients who underwent surgery for an adnexal mass from January 2000 to April 2024. The inclusion criteria were based on intraoperative diagnoses of paraovarian cysts, which were later confirmed by final surgical pathology reports.

A 56-year-old G3P3 postmenopausal woman presented with a 5 month history of abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic pain. A computed tomographic scan revealed a 5 cm right adnexal cystic mass in addition to a thickened, heterogenous endometrium and leiomyomatous uterus. BACKGROUND: Tubal mesosalpinx cysts are paratubal cysts, that account for approximately 10% of adnexal masses, and the presence of these cysts combined with adnexal torsion is a rare acute abdominal condition, with few cases reported in the literature. BACKGROUND: Paraovarian cysts are common intrapelvic neoplasms, but the magnetic resonance (MR) findings of paraovarian cyst have never been reported. We investigated the spectrum of MR imaging features of paraovarian cyst.
METHODS: MR images of 18 paraovarian cysts in 16 patients were reviewed retrospectively. MR images were evaluated for the size and location of paraovarian cysts, single or multicystic, signal intensity on T1- and T2-weighted images, and visualization of the normal ovary on the affected side.

200 women threatened with abortion during the first 16 weeks of pregnancy were examined with diagnostic ultrasound to determine whether ther … ties were found. In 36 of the other 75, laparoscopy was performed. Ectopic pregnancy 21, ovarian or parovarian cyst 11, adhesions 2, salpingitis 1, and normal 1. Diagnostic ultrasound is excellent for accurate prognosis in threatened abortion. Unnecessary operations avoided; hospitalization in suspected ectopic pregnancies reduced.

Paraovarian cysts constitute about 10% of all adnexal masses in females and occur most commonly in the third and fourth decades of life. These cysts are benign and usually uncommon in adolescence. BACKGROUND: Borderline paratubal cysts are rare entities. These tumors are identified as epithelial proliferation without stromal invasion.
CASE: A 19-year-old virgin patient was admitted to our clinic with abdominal pain and nausea. The sonographic evaluation showed a left adnexal mass 89 × 80 mm in diameter with solid tissue projections. Doppler examination revealed no significant blood supply. At surgery, a torsed left paratubal cyst 10 cm in diameter and normal bilateral ovaries were encountered. Cystectomy was performed and of frozen section revealed a borderline Fallopian tube neoplasm.
