In an attempt to investigate the sensitivity of immunodiagnosis in cats experimentally infected with Paragonimus westermani, agar-gel precipitin reaction were studied. Metacercariae of P. westermani were administered to cats in various doses(2~100 metacercariae per cat) and antisera were obtained at an interval of a week. 1. Precipitin bands appeared in homologous antigen-antibody in experimental paragonimiasis between 3 and 5 weeks after infection in all the cats. 2. A precipitin reaction was observed when sera of cotton rats infected either naturally or experimentally with Angiostrongylus costaricensis were tested by gel double-diffusion against sera obtained from three biopsy-confirmed human cases of A. costaricensis. It seems well established that during normal lactation there passes a slight but well defined quantity of blood protein into the udder. Precipitins against avian antigens in sera from patients with extrinsic allergic alveolitis, asymptomatic pigeon and chicken breeders and from control individuals were tested with different antigen extracts in six laboratories by a variety of different methods. Eighty percent of the results coincided in identifying the positive sera from patients and 90% in identifying the controls. It seems possible therefore to exchange results among experienced laboratories with fair confidence.

Sera from 200 pregnant women, with symptoms suggestive of vaginitis and harbouring yeast in the vagina, were examined for precipitating antibodies to three antigens of C. albicans, using a gel double diffusion test. On using lypholized eggs of S. mansoni isolated from mice, and that of S. haematobium isolated fresh from man. IOP was not observed and the sensitivity of (COP) was less in the former than in the latter. The double diffusion precipitinin test for amoebiasis, has been evaluated in invasive amoebiasis. It gave positive percentages of 91-3 and 90-0 in cases of amoebic liver abscess and amoebic dysentery. False positive rates of 8-0 per cent and 0-0 per cent were obtained in miscellaneous non-amoebic disorders and in apparently healthy subjects, respectively.
