An alternative description is provided for the previously reported novel tetranuclear cadmium carbonyl compound, [Cd(CO)3(C6H3Cl)]4. Specifically, consideration of single crystal X-ray diffraction data indicates that the compound is better formulated as the rhenium compound, [Re(CO)3(C4N2H3S)]4. Well-defined rhenium complexes bearing a tetradentate PNNP ligand were developed for the first time. These new complexes exhibit much better performance in catalytic hydrogenation of carbonyl derivatives into alcohols compared to the corresponding aminophosphine-ligand-constituted complex (o-PPh2C6H4CH2NH2)2Re(CO)2Cl. Under the optimized conditions, the highest turnover frequency and turnover number can be up to 4041 h-1 and 61008, respectively.

Hypertrophy and inflammation of the synovium with various underlying pathologies - such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, haemophilia and spondyloarthropathy - can be treated successfully by radiosynoviorthesis (RSO). For medium-sized joints (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip and ankle), the radionuclide of choice is rhenium-186.
