This paper develops a rigorous framework using finite transformation semigroups to model supply-chain state evolution under cascading disruptions and resilience interventions. Disruptions and interventions are represented as non-invertible transformations on finite configuration spaces, generating a semigroup whose structure encodes collapse conditions, equilibria, minimal collapse-inducing sets, and redundancy. The surface pressure-area isotherms at 25 °C are reported for some linear saturated polyesters spread as monolayers at air-aqueous interfaces. Animals presenting with brachycephalic syndrome suffer from multilevel obstruction of the airways as well as secondary structural collapse. Stenotic nares, aberrant turbinates, nasopharyngeal collapse, soft palate elongation and hyperplasia, laryngeal collapse, and left bronchus collapse are being described as the most common associated anomalies. Rhinoplasty and palatoplasty as well as newer surgical techniques and postoperative care strategies have resulted in significant improvement of the prognosis even in middle-aged dogs.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: The nasal valve is a complex structure that can be weakened from effects of aging, surgery, and trauma. A variety of methods have been described to strengthen the nasal valve region and prevent or treat nasal obstruction, such as batten grafts, spreader grafts, butterfly grafts, flare sutures, and suspension sutures. They will be briefly discussed here, but the intent of this review is to highlight the new developments in the treatment nasal valve collapse that have appeared in the literature over the last few years.

Dogs presenting with brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome suffer from multilevel obstruction of the airway as well as secondary structural collapse. Stenotic nares, aberrant turbinates, nasopharyngeal collapse, soft palate hyperplasia, macroglossia, tonsillar hypertrophy, laryngeal collapse, and left bronchial collapse are described as the most common associated anomalies. Eighteen patients with stage 3 Kienböck's disease were treated by débridement of the necrotic core of the lunate and implantation of a free vascularized corticocancellous iliac bone. The wrist was stabilized with an external fixator during healing. The efficiency of the procedure for restoring the structure of the fractured lunate, preventing carpal collapse and improving the clinical outcome was assessed at a mean follow-up of 5 years.
