During a two-year period, from January 1984 through December 1985, six cases of intentional overdosage with isoniazid were reported in young Southeast Asian refugee women. Red cells with the Del phenotype test as D negative. Del is common among D-negative individuals in east and southeast Asia. METHODS: Central sagittal sections of 24 upper eyelids were obtained from 15 East Asian cadavers aged 36 to 94 years. The specimens were fixed in 10% formalin and stained with silver nitrate.
