We have presented a brief discussion of WHO International Histological Classification of Testicular Germ Cell Tumors. This classification divides the tumors into those of one histologic type and those of more than one type. Seven basic histological categories are recognized: seminoma, spermatocytic seminoma, embryonal carcinoma, yolk sac tumor, polyembryoma, choriocarcinoma and teratoma. Allergic reaction to an antitumor agent, cis-dichlorodiammineplatinum(II) (DDP) was investigated. A 15-year-old white male with pulmonary metastases from embryonal carcinoma of testis was treated with a combination of DDP, bleomycin, and vinblastine. Central nervous system embryonal tumour with PLAGL amplification, a methylation-defined tumour entity, may lack typical embryonal morphology. In this paediatric case, the diagnosis was established by DNA methylation profiling and confirmed by fluorescence in situ hybridisation demonstrating PLAGL1 amplification. Recognition of this morphology-molecular discordance may help avoid diagnostic pitfalls.

OBJECTIVES: To compare the performance of 18F-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) and computed tomography (CT) in the follow-up of nonseminomatous germ cell tumours (NSGCT) in the retroperitoneum.

OBJECTIVE: The clinical characteristics of ovarian tumors associated with pregnancy were investigated.
METHOD: A series of 106 cases of ovarian tumor surgically resected during pregnancy was investigated with respect to incidence, clinicopathologic features and outcome.
RESULTS: Among 106 cases undergoing ovarian surgery, 31 (29.2%), 70 (66%) and five (4.7%) were diagnosed as physiologic, benign and malignant, respectively. The incidence of benign neoplastic tumor was 1:112 deliveries and that of malignant neoplastic tumor was 1:1684 deliveries. Dermoid cyst was the most common lesion found.
