The objective of this clinical case report is to describe the late treatment performed in a 10-year-old patient who suffered a complicated crown fracture associated with luxation of the maxillary left central incisor. A 1-year-old red-crowned parakeet (Cyanoramphus novaezelandiae) was presented with an acute onset of hyperprotraction of the upper beak and an inability to return the beak to its normal position. With the abnormal beak position, the bird was unable to eat. Standard radiographic images of the head supported a diagnosis of a rostroparasphenopalatal luxation. The luxation was reduced with a 23-gauge hypodermic needle inserted dorsal to the palatine bone and directed ventrally. After the procedure, the bird regained its normal beak function within 2 hours.

We present a unique case of crowned dens syndrome (CDS) that developed after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in a patient who presented with fever and neck pain. Administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs was extremely effective for relieving fever and neck pain, and in the improvement of inflammatory markers. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report of CDS caused by an ERCP procedure. In a patient with fever and neck pain after an ERCP procedure, CDS should be considered in the differential diagnosis.

OBJECTIVES: To determine root lengths of fully developed permanent teeth of cleft lip and palate (CLP) patients and to define their crown-root (C/R) ratios.
METHOD: Crown height and root length of permanent teeth were measured from panoramic radiographs of 44 CLP patients and 37 controls. A total of 1397 teeth were measured, and C/R ratios were calculated.

A 32-year-old man presented with a complicated crown-root fracture of a maxillary lateral incisor. The fracture extended subgingivally, and apical to the alveolar bone crest, invading the biologic width. Flap surgery to expose the fractured root face was performed and the coronal tooth fragment reattached with a dual-cure resin adhesive. Examination six months after treatment revealed periodontal health, good aesthetics and normal function.
