INTRODUCTION: DNA methylation (DNMTi) and histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) are in development for cancer therapy. So far, four epigenetic drugs are approved for myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). The combination of hydralazine-valproate (TRANSKRIP(™)) is being repositioned as an oral DNMT and HDAC inhibitor.

Interest in Mycobacterium fortuitum has increased since it was recognized as an emergent pathogen. The objective of this study was to screen a large number of drug combinations in order to evaluate the activity of classical and new potentially useful antibiotics against M. fortuitum. We report the case of a schizophrenic patient whose symptoms worsened after adding aripiprazole to another antipsychotic drug (amisulpiride). OBJECTIVE: The following is a case presentation of congenital syphilitic keratitis in a boy 6 years of age who was successfully treated with an immunosuppressive drug combination therapy.
METHODS: Congenital syphilitic keratitis was diagnosed by clinical findings and laboratory tests. The child was unresponsive to traditional treatment; thus, systemic immunosuppressive therapy, which consisted of oral cyclosporine 4 mg/kg/d, 6 days per week, and oral low-dose steroids (fluocortolone 0.8 mg/kg a week, given every other day), was initiated.

20 patients with myasthenia gravis (MG), refractory to anticholinesterase and steroid therapy, underwent plasma exchange therapy combined with immunosuppressive drugs and lymphocytapheresis.
