Microplastics (MP) are pervasive environmental contaminants in human habitats. Polyamide (PA) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) MP, frequently shed from synthetic textiles, can enter the human body. Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) and microplastics (MP) are considered pervasive pollutants in aquatic environments and its exceeding limit could produce serious cytotoxic effects in fish. In view of that, a 28-day trial was designed where juvenile striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) were subjected to a sub-lethal concentration of chromium (Cr6+; 3.2 mg/L) and polyamide microplastic (PA-MP; 10 mg/L) alone or combined. Three different waterborne treatments i.e. T1 (PA-MP); T2 (Cr6+); and T3 (Cr6++PA-MP) including a control (no Cr6+ or PA-MP) with three replicates for each were incorporated.

Associations of clothing factors and vulvovaginal symptoms, signs, and microbiology were sought in 203 women seeking care at a university family medicine clinic. Clothing factors studied were use of panty hose, underwear for sleep, cotton lining panels, and pants vs skirts. Women wearing and not wearing panty hose had similar rates of vaginitis symptoms and signs, but yeast vaginitis was about three times more common among wearers. Relationships of other clothing factors to vaginitis were not found. Nonspecific vaginitis was not found to be related to clothing.

Commercial pH test strips suffer from low sensitivity in the extremely acidic range (pH 0.5-1.5) and are typically single-use due to indicator leaching, causing environmental concern. To address these issues, we developed a reusable pH test strip based on the strong adsorption between Congo red and a nylon film. INTRODUCTION: Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures worldwide. Intraoperative and postoperative complications of cataract surgery include posterior capsule rupture, retinal detachment, suprachoroidal hemorrhage, cystoid macular edema, endophthalmitis, and intraocular lens dislocation. OBJECTIVE: The fibrotic process of kidney resulting in glomerulosclerosis was found in patients with ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) who underwent renal biopsy during pyeloplasty. Transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) plays a role in collagen accumulation, resulting in fibrosis. Adipose tissue-derived stem cells (ADSCs) have an anti-apoptotic effect on target cells and enhance the kidney function recovery.
