The current study aims to clarify the longitudinal relations among parent emotion regulation (ER), child ER, and children's oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) symptoms. In the current study, parents of 275 children (195 boys, 70.1%) with ODD symptoms (Mage = 9.32 years, SD = 1.64) reported their ER using the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale, child ERs using the Emotion Regulation Checklist, and children's ODD symptoms using the eight symptoms indicated in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR) at three time points (T1, T2, and T3) within 2 years. The autopsy of a newborn child that was found wrapped up in a plastic bag revealed a biparietal fracture of the skull. Only after knowing all circumstances it was possible to explain the origin of this fracture. A plausible reconstruction was possible after the inspection of the scene, the autopsy and by taking into consideration the statement of the mother. Thus it is could be decided that the death of the newborn child occurred by an accident while an infanticide, birth injury or labor precipitate causing the fracture was excluded.

A lateral Monteggia fracture in a child is reported. Between 1941 and 1977, only 16 such cases were reported in the literature. Of these, 2 cases needed open reduction of the fractured ulna. AIMS: Fabricated or Induced Illness in Children (FIIC) is a complex form of child abuse. Harm to the child is both iatrogenic and psychological, driven by caregivers. Our aim was to characterise the clinical features and outcomes of FIIC cases in a tertiary Australian child protection unit (CPU).

Ipsilateral fractures of the proximal radius and scaphoid have been reported only once previously in a child, and never bilaterally. BACKGROUND: Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is common and difficult to treat. Cannabidiol (CBD) is now widely available, but no studies to date have investigated the use of CBD for JIA.
METHODS: We performed a chart review to identify patients with JIA at a Midwestern medical institution between 2017 and 2019. We surveyed primary caregivers of JIA patients using an anonymous, online survey with questions on caregiver knowledge and attitudes towards CBD. We compared respondents with no interest in CBD use vs. those contemplating or currently using CBD using descriptive statistics.
