Neutrophilic panniculitis is a relatively rare condition, characterized by predominantly neutrophilic inflammation in the subcutaneous fat. Rarely, neutrophilic panniculitis may be induced by chemotherapeutics or targeted molecular therapies, including the Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitor ibrutinib. Previously reported cases of ibrutinib-induced panniculitis were suppressed with sustained low-dose steroid therapy while continuing ibrutinib therapy. To our knowledge, self-limiting panniculitis during ibrutinib therapy has not yet been described. We describe a case of self-limiting, neutrophilic…

A Mesenteric panniculitis is an uncommon disorder with unknown etiology. It may cause nonspesific abdominal or systemic symptoms. Radiological modalitis especially computed tomography are very helpful to make a diagnosis. Hence, the radiologist should be familiar with its tomographic findings to avoid further examinations and unnecessary surgery. We report computed tomography findings of mesenteric panniculitis in an adult patient with renal colic.

The skin changes outlined in this article can be important clues to an underlying malignancy. Paraneoplastic dermatoses are skin disorders associated with an underlying neoplasm and whose course parallels that of the neoplasm. Recognizing these skin presentations leads to early diagnosis and management of the underlying malignancy. Effective treatment of the associated neoplasm often leads to improvement of the cutaneous manifestations and should be the primary focus of each patient's management.

Gouty panniculitis is an unusual clinical manifestation of gout, characterized by the deposition of monosodium urate crystals in the lobular hypodermis. Its pathogenesis is poorly understood but is associated with hyperuricemia, and the clinical presence of indurate subcutaneous plaques, which may precede or appear subsequently to the articular clinical expression of tophaceous gout. The aim of this report is to describe the clinical characteristics and potential risk factors for the development of lobular panniculitis secondary to chronic tophaceous gout. This is a retrospective clinical revi…

This case report describes a 38 year-old lady with the clinical, histopathological, and immunohistochemical (IHC) changes of subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma (SPTCL). The IHC findings revealed CD8 + and CD56 - cells, which are indicative of tumors which have an indolent course. Our patient is being managed with tapering doses of corticosteroids for the last nine months with good improvement.

Pancreatic panniculitis is a rare complication occurring in 0.3-3% of patients with pancreatic disease. Clinical features include erythematous painful subcutaneous nodules usually on the lower leg and foot. A 72-year-old man was diagnosed in 2002 with a neuroendocrine carcinoma of the head of the pancreas. In 2003 following surgery and radiation therapy, he developed liver metastases and painful nodules on his legs. Lipase was found to be markedly elevated; amylase and alpha1-antitrypsin were in the normal range. Histopathologic examination of a nodule showed subcutaneous fat necrosis with gho…

We report the case of a patient who presented with painful nodular subcutaneous lesions on the lower limbs and episodes of high temperature (> 39.5 degrees C). Histologic examination and immunohistochemical study of a biopsy specimen from a nodular lesion were consistent with the diagnosis of subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Diagnosis is made particularly difficult, especially in the early stages, by nonspecific clinical features shared by many types of panniculitis. Therefore, it seems advisable to consider the possibility of this type of ly…
