OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of lower doses rituximab(375 mg/m²×1) in primary children immune thrombocytopenia (ITP).
METHODS: Fifty children [23 male and 27 female, the median age was 9.5 years (rage 3.5-17.0 years)]with persistent and chronic ITP were treated with lower doses rituximab from January 2009 to January 2013 in our hospital. Efficacy and side effects of lower doses rituximab was studied, and factors related to the outcomes were analyzed.

Properly treated, unstable angina and non-Q wave myocardial infarction have low hospital mortality, but if untreated, mortality is high. Symptoms and labs usually suffice for diagnosis. Abnormal physical findings are rarely helpful and often absent. Careful surveillance and management, including invasive management in selected cases, substantially reduce long-term risks.

Antiplatelet medications such as clopidogrel and tirofiban (glycoprotien IIb/IIIa inhibitors) are associated with a reduction in mortality and morbidity and are therefore recommended in the treatment of acute coronary syndromes. Massive pulmonary haemorrhage is a rare complication of both clopidogrel and tirofiban. Pulmonary haemorrhage may easily be mistaken for acute pulmonary oedema, a condition commonly seen in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Physicians need to be aware of this diagnostic dilemma because early treatment increases the chances of patient survival.

In view of the poor prognosis for untreated patients with basilar artery occlusion, rapid delivery of effective treatment has the highest priority. Early recanalization by intra-arterial thrombolysis can improve the outcome in some patients.
