The case report describes a relapse of Crohn's disease in a woman soon after the fitting of a levonorgestrel intrauterine system (IUS). Whilst the published evidence on the effects of levonorgestrel IUS in patients with pre-existing inflammatory bowel disease is limited, reports to date suggest that caution should be exercised when considering fitting an IUS in such women, even if there appears to be much to gain from an expected reduction in menorrhagia.

In a survey of gynecologic lesions in female zoo felids conducted to determine if the widely used progestin contraceptive melengestrol acetate (MGA) had adverse effects, numerous leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas were detected. INTRODUCTION: Cyclical sciatica due to implantation of endometrial tissue in the sciatic nerve in the region of the sciatic notch is a very unusual cause of sciatica. It occurs in women of childbearing age, as episodes of pain in the distribution of the sciatic nerve, which present in a cyclic manner and coincide with menstruation. If it is not treated, a sensomotor mononeuropathy of the sciatic nerve develops.
CLINICAL CASE: The patient had complained of right-sided sciatic pain from the age of 36 years. Over the years a motor deficit had slowly and progressively appeared causing foot drop.

We report two cases of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) in which administration of chlormadinone acetate (CMA), a substituted progestational agent for prostatic disease, suppressed ACTH hypersecretion and lowered plasma testosterone levels. This is a clinical study to evaluate the efficacy, clinical side effects and in lipid metabolism of a new hormonal contraceptive preparation containing 75 mcg. of ethinyloestradiol. The natural aging process affects a woman greatly during the climacteric; hormonal patterns, metabolic parameters, reproductive target organs and bone are involved. Recent experimental work has identified a novel intracellular binding site for the synthetic progestin, Gestodene, that appears to be uniquely expressed in human breast cancer cells.
