Increased ethanol blood level follows the administering of ethanol mixed with single hydrocarbons in a similar way as after cannulation of ethanol with benzol Ethanol blood level changes are stipulated by hydrocarbons, reducing benzol compounds are not decisive for increasing influence. Kinetic relations indicate that resorption speed is not influenced substantially. Increased ethanol blood level in rat seems to be caused by restricted elimination.

An infusion of compatible normal bone marrow stimulated bone resorption in both unthymectomized and thymectomized Fatty/Orl-op osteopetrotic rats. Bone resorption was not stimulated by compatible normal thymic grafts in either unthymectomized or thymectomized mutants. It is concluded that the thymus is not fundamental in the cure of osteopetrosis in this strain of osteopetrotic rat and that the defect lies in myeloid rather than thymic regulation of osteoclastic function.

Electron microscopy was used to explore ultrastructural changes in the lateral hypothalamic area (LHA) of rats 1, 3, 5 and 7 days after food deprivation. Special attention was paid to studies on changes in LHA dendrites which carry out receptive function. The diurnal variations of pineal indoles in New-Zealand Black (NZB) mice and Wistar rats were determined by HPLC fluorometry. Crosslinking of collagenous matrices, a process used to render tissues relatively inert and nonbiodegradable, seems to encourage calcification.
