BACKGROUND & AIMS: Cholera toxin (CT) has been shown to be a strong mucosal adjuvant for the induction of antigen-specific secretory immunoglobulin A (IgA). PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas represent clinically and biologically a heterogeneous group of non-Hodgkin lymphomas according to the new revised European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer and World Health Organization consensus classification for cutaneous lymphomas. Recent progress in immune and molecular biology and novel therapeutic targets have increased our understanding of these diseases and have led to novel treatment approaches. UNLABELLED: Fruit juices and nectars are an integral part of the diet of the Russian population, especially children. Being a source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, trace elements and dietary fibers, at the same time fruit and berries are a good substrate for the development of mold fungi capable of producing secondary metabolites with toxic and even carcinogenic properties - mycotoxins, which pose a real danger to human health. The aim of the research was studying of the nature of mycotoxins' contamination of fruit juices based on apples and grapes sold in the Russian market.

The target-induced clustering of magnetic nanoparticles is typically used for the identification of clinically relevant targets and events. A decrease in the water proton transverse NMR relaxation time, or T(2), is observed upon clustering, allowing the sensitive and accurate detection of target molecules. We have discovered a new mechanistically unique nanoparticle-target interaction resulting in a T(2) increase and demonstrate herein that this increase, and its associated r(2) relaxivity decrease, are also observed upon the interaction of the nanoparticles with ligands or molecular entities.

We have analyzed the V beta usage by CD4+ and CD8+ T cells from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected individuals in response to an in vitro stimulation with the superantigenic erythrogenic toxin A (ETA) of Streptococcus pyogenes. ETA amplifies specifically CD4+ and CD8+ T cells from control donors expressing the V beta 8 and the V beta 12 elements. When peripheral T cells from asymptomatic HIV-infected individuals were stimulated with ETA, there was a complete lack of activation of the V beta 8+ T cell subset, whereas the V beta 12+ T cell subset responded normally to the superantigen.
