The OEM's purpose is to construct measurements that make it possible to account for GBV suffered by women. The following types of violence were classified: psychological violence, physical violence, sexual violence, workplace violence, and economic violence. I…

Association between just world beliefs and perceptions of counterproductive workplace behaviors.

320 adults rated 48 counterproductive workplace behaviors (CWBs) on a 9-point scale, from petty to serious offense, and also completed the Just World Beliefs scale. Ratings of the seriousness of the CWBs indicated considerable variability in perceptions, with theft and physical violence rated most strongly. A factor analysis yielded five interpretable factors. Older participants were more likely to rate as more serious all counterproductive workplace behaviors.

Assessing risk for violence on home health visits.

The objective of this study was to develop and test measures for assessing risk of violence toward staff during home visits. Home visiting health workers from public and private home visiting programs in a Mid-Atlantic state (n = 130) were surveyed to assess exposure to risky home visits, verbal and physical violence, and workplace violence safety climate. Two measures demonstrated evidence of reliability and validity moving the safety research closer to developing tools and processes for protecting home care clinicians.

Violence in harm reduction: Exploring the social, political, and emotional conditions of harm reduction work.

Harm reduction professionals strive to reduce the health, social, and legal consequences associated with drug use in contexts permeated by violence. Building on fieldwork in Paris and Barcelona, we examine how they make sense of this violence. In Paris, the discussion of violence primarily hinges on the narratives of suffering from people who use drugs and the obstacles posed by the political context. In Barcelona, the narrative emphasizes precariousness and deficiencies in organizational violence management, which intensifies perceptions of violence. Moving beyond polarized understandings of

Occupational violence in health care: A systematic review.

In recent years, healthcare environments have witnessed an increase in incidents of violence, often attributed to dissatisfaction with the quality of services provided or with the manner in which care is delivered during healthcare assistance. In the quest to find a theoretical basis for this observation, a systematic review was conducted over the past 5 years, and the literature indicates that this phenomenon is particularly pronounced in the aggression directed towards nurses and physicians. Review article: Identifying occupational violence patient risk factors and risk assessment tools in the emergency department: A scoping review.

Occupational violence (OV) is a daily risk for ED staff. It contributes to staff stress, sick leave, turn-over and burn-out, and limits the capacity of staff to provide unimpeded quality care to patients and their families. Many factors contribute to incidents of OV; however, early detection of such risk factors could pre-empt incidences of OV during ED episodes of care. A five-stage methodological framework for scoping reviews was used to identify, summarise and synthesise OV risk factors from five key databases. A validated tool was used to appraise the quality of included studies. Independe
